If you’re looking for a light and easy read that will re-energize your soul, “The Energy Bus,” written by Jon Gordon will do the trick!

The Scope

George, a miserable middle-aged man comes home one day and starts to take note of his life. He’s failing at his job, in his marriage, and with his kids. As if things couldn't get worse, George's car breaks down on his way to work and he has to take the bus. He engages with the bus driver and passengers who all encourage George to reflect on his life and choose a better way to move forward. Throughout the book, Gordon, reveals "10 rules" to achieve sucess in life, at home, and at work that lead to gratification and success.

Gordon’s 10 Rules:

1) You're the driver of your bus
2) Desire, vision, and focus move your bus in the right direction
  • If your bus isn’t going in the direction you desire, take time to visualize where you want it to go
  • Having a picture in mind will help guide you along your journey.
3) Fuel your ride with positive energy
4) Invite people on your bus and share your vision for the road ahead
5) Don't waste your energy on those who don't get on your bus
  • You can’t drive anyone else’s bus; you can only drive yours. Some people aren’t going to want to get on your bus and that’s ok, just accept it and move on to the next.
6) Post a sign that says no energy vampires allowed on your bus
  • On your journey you will have to stand firm by telling negative people they aren’t allowed on your bus.
7) Enthusiasm attracts more passengers and energizes them for the ride
  • Live and work with enthusiasm and positivity, it’s contagious!
8) Love your passengers
  • Give them your time and work to bring out the best in them.
9) Drive with purpose
10) Have fun and enjoy the ride

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars. It has a clear and simple message that can transform your outlook on life by driving purpose into everything you do!
