In one of my previous blogs, Networking for Introverts, I mentioned the fact that 80% of today’s jobs are landed through networking which stands as pretty good evidence to support the saying, “it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”
It’s been one year since I embarked on my exploration of professional organizations and networking events in the Buffalo-Niagara region and needless to say, there’s never a dull moment! Here are a few of my favorite organizations and upcoming Buffalo events well worth checking out!
What is it? An international service organization with the purpose of bringing together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian services and advance goodwill and peace around the world.
- Established in 2014, Rotary BNMC is the youngest club in Buffalo and the first to be housed on the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
- Meetings are every Monday at 5PM on the BNMC campus. Great group of individuals (young professionals to executives) who are passionate about Buffalo community.
- New speaker every week, volunteer opportunities, networking events, mentorship opportunities and community outreach galore!
I will never be able to exhaust the importance of networking and in order for you to understand that for yourself you have to get up, get out, and get involved! You may have already scooped out some of my recommendations, but there's a lot of Buffalo networking events this month and you'll be missing out if you don't explore the scene.
